Common Name: Spade-Leaf/Radican Sword

A comparatively fast-growing Echinodorus from Mexico, suitable for large aquariums reaching 20-50 cm long leaves and a 15-30 cm wide roset. Easy and undemanding, excellent plant for beginners.

Its wavy, light green leaves are very decorative. Unlike other round-leafed varieties of the species, Echinodorus cordifolius is less likely to grow up over the water surface. If it grows large enough, it forms large leaves just under the surface instead.

  • Remove the plant from the pot and remove the rock wool and rinse in water. Remove dead leaves. Using aquascaping tweezers, plant in substrate.

A nutritious bottom promotes growth, but the plant needs pruning to prevent it depriving plants underneath of light. Does well in low light and CO2 is not required. Great as a background plant.

I recommend this product.

This is my favorite in-tank ceramic diffuser. It's low profile, so easy to hide behind some plants, and best of all, it has replaceable ceramic discs so you can keep some clean ones in rotation!

Talking tools, these are important if you use them alot if not then not so much. These tropica tweezers are super nice having a really nice overall feel. Nice and light with upper knurling to keep your hands right where you want them when damp. They also have super positive teeth for gripping your plants when planting to avoid them slipping out constantly and regrabbing and damaging them. So absolutely no more square dull uncomfortable pinsets for this guy!

Noticed my crypt undulata red were not doing well so added one of these into the soil and really made them grow!
