Common Name: Red Tiger Lotus
A beautiful and very varied species from West Africa with leaves of green to red-brown and varying numbers of purple spots. Can grow from 20-80 cm tall. Before forming floating leaves, Nymphaea zenkeri forms many underwater leaves. The beautiful, aromatic flowers can be fully appreciated in open aquariums. A beautiful center piece plant for larger aquascapes and is one of our favorites!

Nymphaea zenkeri
Remove the plant from the pot and remove the rock wool and rinse in water. Remove dead leaves. Using aquascaping tweezers, plant in substrate.
A medium category plant that requires medium to high lighting to maintain the red/brown coloration and low CO2. A nutritious substrate encourages growth. If not using aquarium soil or soil has run out of nutrients, suplement with nutrition capsules and liquid fertalizers. If you don't want floating leaves, prune the roots and leaves.
